Our Story

Happy Tails Fountains & Company started at home, in the middle of everyday life with kids, dogs, and a yard we actually use. We have five kids, two giant Great Danes, and a love for being outside—gardening, planting flowers, and enjoying the calming sound of running water.

What didn’t fit that picture were the dog water bowls. They were constantly dirty, tipped over, filled with drool, leaves, and mud, and they clashed with the outdoor spaces we worked hard to make feel peaceful and beautiful. No matter how often we cleaned them, they never stayed fresh for long.

We also noticed something simple but important: our dogs were drawn to moving water. Flowing water stayed cleaner, felt more natural to them, and made the whole space feel calmer. That’s when the idea began to form—why couldn’t dog water be both practical and beautiful?

Happy Tails grew from that question. We wanted to create fountains that give dogs clean, fresh water while blending naturally into gardens and outdoor spaces—without ugly bowls, exposed equipment, or constant maintenance. What started as a solution for our own family turned into something we realized other dog owners were quietly wishing for too.

Our ideal Happy Tails customer is a dog owner who sees their pets as part of the family and cares about both their animals’ well-being and the feel of their home and outdoor space. They often have large dogs or multiple dogs and are tired of dealing with messy, drool-filled bowls that get knocked over, attract dirt and leaves, and don’t fit the look of their yard or garden.

They enjoy being outside—gardening, relaxing, spending time with family—and want their space to feel calm, welcoming, and intentional. The sound of running water appeals to them, and they like the idea of adding something that feels peaceful and natural rather than purely functional.

By creating a fountain, they’re hoping to give their dogs cleaner, fresher water while also improving their outdoor space. They want a solution that looks good, works well, and blends naturally into everyday life—so they can spend less time managing water bowls and more time enjoying their dogs, their garden, and their time outdoors.

Our approach focuses on hidden systems, thoughtful design, and real-world use. Instead of exposed bowls, bulky equipment, or complicated pond setups, Happy Tails fountains are designed to blend naturally into outdoor spaces while quietly doing their job in the background.
